I did my BA in history and political science and I received 2 teaching certificates (Oxford Seminars TESL and Cambridge's CELTA). I first had experience teaching young children in Hong Kong when I was 20 years old. It was an amazing opportunity to learn and travel, though I wasn't quite ready to devote myself to teaching full time. I finished my degree at McMaster university and worked random jobs before becoming a certified teacher in Montreal. I taught in 2 language schools. I started teaching online because my partner and I decided to move to France for a couple of years. Since then I've been working with italki and I absolutely love it. I use a combination of approaches which I learned in the CELTA training program. The program was amazing at teaching us how to engage our students, how to have them learn things on their own, and how to have fun while learning, making it seem less about "learning" English and more about interacting with others by examining different subjects.
I offer all sorts of lessons including listening, reading, grammar, vocabulary/expressions and business English, the majority of which are made personally by me. Regardless of the type of lesson, my students have lots of speaking time in class. There may be homework and exercises, but after checking if everything is correct, we focus on speaking.Il mio materiale didattico

ELTA - English Language Teaching AssistantI taught children ages 9-12. My lessons were focused on games and activities rather than grammar. I also organized various out of class activities such as English fair, Halloween and Christmas events, as well as outings.
I was also involved in a university program called Big Mouth Corner where I would meet with university students for conversation.
Finally, I volunteered at a Salvation Army home for boys where I helped the teens with their English.
2014 - 2017
ESL teacherI taught students ages 16 and older. My classes ranged anywhere from 3-15 students. I focused on a curriculum and added my own activities to further secure students' knowledge of the target language. I also held conversation classes.
2015 - 2017
ESL teacherI taught private classes in the corporate sector. This usually involved business English as well as general English conversation. Moreover, I taught night classes to students who wished to continue improving their English. I prepared my own lessons based on students' needs.
