Hello! I grew up in Europe with in an American military family. This experience taught me to enjoy the variety in food, culture and languages that you find in Western Europe. When I grew older I became a teacher and traveled to Asia and taught English in the cold, brown mountains of central China. I liked traveling in Asia and my wife and I went to become teachers at an American high school in southern Japan. Now I teach online and am raising two babies on the coast of California. I'm excited to meet and converse with new people from around the world!

Che tipo di insegnante sono

I am a believer in the growth mindset. All the things we want to do take practice. Hard things are not impossible if we apply ourselves and practice a skill. I have applied this philosophy to my teaching and enjoy seeing students succeed where they have thought things were very difficult.

Le mie lezioni e il mio metodo di insegnamento

My teaching is friendly and personable because all education begins with relationship. We must speak of things that interest you or what you will use in your daily life or you won't find the information important enough to remember. I will teach mostly through conversation with use of visual aids to help you understand concepts. I can use popular culture references when needed too. I can teach beginners to advanced students and have experience with thousands of students. I am also available to edit written work if that is of importance to the student though I will not focus on writing predominately as I think it is of secondary importance to speaking and listening.
