I’ve been teaching English for the last 8 years and have used several methods to improve my students English skills according to their needs.That is the focal point of my teaching: YOUR needs. I’m a big follower of Confucius’s quote: “I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.” My students are always require to implement their knowledge with actions as there is no learning going on without taking any actions. Our study plan will include what you need and what you like.

I teach using mnemonics, and I force you to learn with creativity. Not only do you learn the mundane but useful parts of a language but also the cool ones in a fun way. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Languages with a Major in English Translation. If a student is more than 10 minutes late or is a no-show, students will be charged for the entire lesson.

I'm quite patient and very understanding if you ever feel frustrated or just simply overwhelmed, so I can be very helpful when it comes to learning a challenging topic. I really think pronunciation is very important, since we almost always communicate verbally, and that's how we make first impressions. I am a firm believer in making learning - especially language learning - fun and am convinced that with this, dedication and immersion you can get pretty much anywhere in a language! But also: don't be afraid to mess up! Everybody makes mistakes when getting into a new language (I've been there), and sometimes it will seem like you'll never stop making the same mistakes, but I am happy to help and go over things multiple times.

I make sure that students get to practice and develop their language in order to be at the level they are aiming for, in a relaxed and friendly manner where they can gain confidence using new language. I can help especially in exam preparation having worked for many years in this area. I will give you shared documents, pdf's, text books & web links, as well as my own materials with outlines of essays, emails and spoken presentations. We will go through model language to target your aims and you can send me, or share any written work and I will then help you to sharpen it to succeed in your goals.

I have many teaching techniques that students have been very pleased with when they work with me. When we meet, I will ask you what you would like to work on specifically. There are many things we could work on, including conversational skills, listening comprehension, reading comprehension, writing skills, pronunciation, and grammar rules, just to name a few. All of these aspects can be improved by using different techniques within my class. Whichever you choose, I promise that it will be beneficial. I am very patient and non-judgmental. I graduated from Cambridge University in 1989. I qualified as a CELTA teacher in 2004 and have worked with International House and the British Council. I have taught General English, Business English, Legal English and Cambridge/IELTS Exam classes.

I love to travel. I have traveled to Germany, China, Hungary, Turkey, Ireland, Puerto Rice, and the eastern half of the USA so far. One of my favorite travel memories is playing soccer with Turkish children. I'm currently fixing a travel trailer so I can explore more of America and Canada. I have "grandma" hobbies such as reading, writing, baking, and knitting. I also have outdoorsy hobbies like hiking, kayaking, and volunteering on a horse farm. I'm a bit of a nerd, so I enjoy talking about things like Harry Potter. What things do we have in common? Let's talk about it! I show students a new thing in English every week. These things range from a good song to a comic I enjoy.

In the first lesson we will talk about the reason you are taking lessons and what you want to learn from the class. From there I can work out what we need to focus on and what you want to improve and achieve. I can provide home work and constructive feedback. Each lesson will be tailored specifically to your needs.
