I worked as a freelance tutor for more than two decades and helped many students to achieve their goals. Everyone is different and while I have a nice toolbox of proven methods to help a student I will always adjust to my students and their needs. Language acquisition has many steps. We will need a good solid foundation before we can really build out our new language core.

I am convinced that learning a new language in a natural way like children do, is the best and most efficient way to speak on a native level. You don't have to struggle with endless amounts of grammar exercises, studying grammar books or long lists of vocabulary in order to gain fluidity. Before children learn about grammar rules in school they are about 10 years and speak fluently. I have been tutoring children and teenagers for six years now and concentrating on conversations mostly as well as keeping them motivated is one of the most essential tools. Seeing my students making progress and achieving their goal within only a short time is an incredibly rewarding experience!

My lessons will be conversational for pupils with intermediate or advanced German skills (B1 - C1). My main goal is to teach you German in a fun way, where you aren't afraid of speaking and making mistakes. First we will set your goal, then I will help you to reach it. To actually speak a new language is problably the hardest part. Therefore I belief it's important to focus on topics you are interested in. I want to teach you how German is actually spoken, rather teaching you "textbook" German. Please note: I don't teach children or teens.

I have been helping people learn English and German since High School. I'm confident in improving your language skills for any situation, whether professional or personal.

I like to teach beginners (A1 to B1) and help them make their first steps in German or English. I am very patient and supportive, so there is absolutely no need to be nervous. I have lots of experience in teaching all ages. I am very patient and friendly and want my student to feel comfortable and enjoy the time with me. A lesson without laughing is a failed lesson. Ich denke, meine Aufgabe in dieser Welt ist die Lehre. Sprachen sind dabei ein Weg, zu globalem Wissen und zu einer besseren Welt beizutragen. Erfahrungen als Sprachlehrer habe ich bereits als Französisch- Nachhilfelehrer gesammelt. Ich denke, dass der eins zu eins Unterricht ideal ist um sich komplett auf deine Ziele, Bedürfnisse und deinen individuellen Lernforschritt einzulassen. As a tutor I try to adapt to the needs and interests of the students. I want to pick’em up where they’re standing language-wise. Besides being empathetic, patient, creative and flexible on content, I want the lessons to be fun! Especially regarding the preciseness and seriousness that the German language tends to represent, I think humor is a great tool to make it more accessible and easygoing. Another thing that makes learning German more fun, is to focus on topics that are relevant to the student. But having fun doesn't mean that success is secondary. My conversation practices are outcome-oriented according to the goal the student wants to achieve. We'll work on an audible improvement! :)

I’m an openminded person and full of energy. In my opinion Iearning a language should be an eye-opening process, with fun and being motivated, that I always keep in my mind. As a professional teacher I like to focus on your specific needs and give you the right hints where to focus to improve your german. As a language learner I can provide useful tips and tricks from my own experience in learning a language.

My lessons are entertaining because I am a really curious person that is definitely going to make you speak. I am creating authentic conversations using well prepared teaching materials. Mein Unterricht ist sehr unterhaltsam, weil ich eine sehr neugierige Person bin, die euch definitiv zum Sprechen animiert. Es fällt mir leicht, einen Zugang zu anderen zu finden, indem ich viele Fragen stelle und authentische Kommunikationssituationen schaffe.

Als community teacher möchte ich vor allem das Anwenden der Sprache üben. Ich möchte euch helfen, mehr Sicherheit beim Sprechen zu erlangen und eure sprachlichen Fähigkeiten sowie Kenntnisse zu verbessern. Das Ziel meiner Unterrichtsstunden ist, dass ihr mit Spaß eine neue Sprache erlernt und bereits vorhandenes Wissen vertieft.

As I am from northern Germany, I have a big advantage over other German teachers. I speak "Hochdeutsch", which is a dialect and accent free version of German. Everybody will be able to understand you and you will be capable of understanding everyone, when you learn with me. Especially in the south and east people have strong dialects, which are not very easy to understand, even for natives. As I am becoming a teacher myself and am studying this subject at the university, I know what is important and what is not, in order to learn German fluently.

I like to set my students thinking and to see how a learning process progresses. I have already worked with people of all ages and noticed that not everyone learns the same way. But what has helped everyone is patience, attention, and trust from the teacher. Since I myself wasn't very satisfied with how my teachers, back at my school days, were teaching, my aim is doing it better.
