I intend to keep my classes entertaining and practical since this is the way to learn the most as I’ve experienced myself. We'll work with interesting texts about a lot of topics and also practice through common conversations. Just studying grammar and doing text book exercises is not the focus of my classes. I'm experienced in studying foreign languages myself, in school I learned English, French and Spanish. But to be honest, it was not as succesfull as I wished. Later, I found much better methods of language learning than the traditional classromm and I'm teaching myself Russian what I like very much. I'm a very empathic and sensitive person, so I can very well adopt to different people and demands. My focus is on structured conversation training, since this is so essential - and most difficult for many students.

When I was a student, I was tutoring a lot of adults and children. In 2017 I passed my state exam for being a French and Spanish teacher at high school. Currently I’m working as a language teacher at a secondary school but I also worked as a language teacher for adults.

Ich bin positiv gestimmt und habe Geduld mit den Schülern, da ich den Lernprozess einer Sprache (meist 1 bis 2 Jahre bis ich mich gut verständigen konnte) selber kenne. Ich kann Sachverhalte und grammatikalische Schwierigkeiten gut erklären und mache auch mal gerne Scherze. I'm a patient guy, knowing how long it takes to master a language. I can explain grammar topics in an easy way and like to joke around as well.

Als Lehrkraft habe ich an verschiedenen Stellen wertvolle Erfahrungen gesammelt: ich habe ein Praktikum an der Deutschen Schule in Oslo absolviert, habe in Deutschland mit jungen Menschen gearbeitet, die Deutsch als Fremdsprache lernten und als Privattutorin Englisch in Kambodscha unterrichtet. In Germany, I studied Art, Theater and Biology to become a teacher for high school students in these subjects. I completed my second state exam and continued working at different schools with my wish to move abroad and make more experiences in living and teaching far away from my home. Right before I moved, I was working as a teacher for remedial education and particular in teaching German to children with migration background. I was able to find suitable teaching methods for the different types of learning and individual needs to achieve the learning goals with the students together. My students appreciated my positive and friendly attitude that always kept them motivated. Formerly, I worked as the editor-in-chief of a customer magazine for a German medical engineering company. With this knowledge, I teach German courses for healthcare professionals such as nurses, caregivers, and doctors.

As I am from northern Germany, I have a big advantage over other German teachers. I speak "Hochdeutsch", which is a dialect and accent free version of German. Everybody will be able to understand you and you will be capable of understanding everyone, when you learn with me. Especially in the south and east people have strong dialects, which are not very easy to understand, even for natives. As I am becoming a teacher myself and am studying this subject at the university, I know what is important and what is not, in order to learn German fluently.
