For several years now, I have had numerous video calls with people from many countries of all continents including a lot of English, French and Spanish native speakers, practising my own foreign languages and helping them to improve their German. So if you speak any of the languages mentioned above, I can assure you that I am very well aware of the typical challenges you encounter with regards to German grammar and pronunciation. I prefer an informal and relaxed teaching style. Besides my passion for languages, I enjoy reading, running, travelling, photography, psychology, philosophy, learning about different lifestyles and cultures, and many more.

My main concern is that you get out of the lessons what you expect and what your goal is.

Since 2007, I have been teaching German as a foreign language in Taipei, Taiwan to Chinese native speakers. Because I had had an interest in the Chinese language and culture for many years, in 2005 I moved to Taiwan to learn Mandarin Chinese. At some point during my stay I had to start looking for work and ended up teaching German at a local language center. Right from the start I loved teaching German and since then have kept on working as a language instructor with a passion, gaining experience over the years and keeping up with improving my skills and expanding my knowledge up to this day.

I have done a lot of language and linguistics related things at university, and I have worked part-time as a language teacher and tutor since the age of 16, gradually moving into more challenging positions, like teaching German to immigrants and business people, and tutoring university students in Latin and Ancient Greek. I have never formally qualified as a teacher, but I take teaching very seriously - while making it fun and inspiring at the same time! :)

I come from a family of teachers. I had several opportunities to teach English to primary school classes. In my time as an Au pair in the USA, I also had my host kids as my first German students.

I've been teaching German for over 20 years. I support students traveling & studying abroad, business people, expatriates and people living in German-speaking countries . I teach at all levels, from beginner to advanced.

My lessons will be conversational for pupils with intermediate or advanced German skills (B1 - C1). My main goal is to teach you German in a fun way, where you aren't afraid of speaking and making mistakes. First we will set your goal, then I will help you to reach it. To actually speak a new language is problably the hardest part. Therefore I belief it's important to focus on topics you are interested in. I want to teach you how German is actually spoken, rather teaching you "textbook" German. Please note: I don't teach children or teens.

I am experienced with working with people of all ages. I enjoy working with students in groups and one-to-one sessions and love seeing them improve their german through my encouragement and tenacity. Fun is important and to create every lesson as unique as possible. I like to use role-plays and photocards in the lessons as that keeps the lessons exciting. Also, I use texts that are of interest to my students because I have improved my English grammar with reading. Most importantly it's the relaxed conversations in German I have with my students that improve my student's skills and gives them the confidence they need.

I am convinced that learning a new language in a natural way like children do, is the best and most efficient way to speak on a native level. You don't have to struggle with endless amounts of grammar exercises, studying grammar books or long lists of vocabulary in order to gain fluidity. Before children learn about grammar rules in school they are about 10 years and speak fluently. I have been tutoring children and teenagers for six years now and concentrating on conversations mostly as well as keeping them motivated is one of the most essential tools. Seeing my students making progress and achieving their goal within only a short time is an incredibly rewarding experience!

Fortunately, in these last four years, I had the opportunity to give private lessons to children and teenagers of different ages and of different levels several times. I taught English, Spanish and German. I am often described as a very patient and organized person. What I like the most about teaching is to see the processes that the student goes through day after day, and above all how he/she gains confidence day by day. Since I had studied Philology I also have many bibliographic references, both in literary books and also in grammar. Another thing I like a lot is the reciprocal process of teaching and learning.

Tengo experiencia enseñando por internet. Me gusta enseñar según el método "aprender al practicar" siempre y cuando se base en buena preparación de antemano. Ich habe Erfahrung mit Online Unterricht. I started when I was in school helping students who struggled, continued with helping students pass the "Abitur" and since two years I give private lessons to french students who want to improve their German.

I have been a Teacher on italki for several years. Before that I studied languages at the University (English, Spanish, French). I have a certificate for teaching languages to adult learners, but my experience expands to helping younger students with their school subjects (History, Literature and foreign languages). I also helped students from all over the world (mostly doctors and software developers) with job applications in Germany.
