I found my passion for teaching while in college when I quit my part-time job at a restaurant bussing tables. I followed the advice of a friend, who was a tutor, and started tutoring students for some extra cash. I tutored students in my major, which was Spanish, and eventually began helping English Language learners, as well. I found it to be such a rewarding experience; I loved it! I have worked with native speakers of Spanish, French, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Arabic and I have found that everyone has a unique perspective. Since graduating with my Bachelor's degree in Spanish, I have had wonderful experiences teaching English in schools in Spain & France.

I have been teaching English on-line for approximately seven years. I love teaching English on Skype because I love the English language, I love teaching and I get to meet so many different interesting people from all over the world. I have a university degree in Linguistics, with a specialty in Second Language Acquisition, and a minor in Spanish. As a teacher, I believe that speaking (and making mistakes!) is the best way to make progress in learning a language. After all, talking with people in English is the goal, right? For students 12 and under, please contact me BEFORE scheduling the first lesson. If you cancel a class with less than 24 hours notice, you still need to pay. You are preventing another student from using that time.

I now have more than 2 years experience teaching Vietnamese and Japanese to foreigners as a tutor. I could organize and prepare the lesson according to each student's needs, no matter it is to reinforce their strength (grammar, writing, etc) or to improve their shortcomings (pronunciation, speaking, etc) in such a way that they feel interesting and effective. 7 years ago I didn't want to be a teacher, my dad was already the 4th generation of teachers in my family and it seemed too boring! Then I did the CELTA course in Chiang-Mai and was hooked. I LOVE my job, there is nothing more exciting than helping my students to reach the 'ahaa!' moment where they respond in English without translating. I am a patient but energetic teacher. I only correct my students when necessary, prioritizing student talk time and letting conversations flow. Instead of focusing on explaining the rules of the English language, I prefer to repeat the erroneous sentences that my students say in class in the right manner, making it a point to have them repeat it in the same way. The same goes for pronunciation errors. Repetition is key.
