For our lessons I’ll choose among a selection of textbooks written by professional authors. The choice will be based on many factors: your current level, your native language and its distance from the target language, your goals and learning style. If you need to reinforce some topics I’ll add extra activities to the lessons or as homework. Homework is not compulsory, but please keep in mind that learning a language is fun and effective only when both the student and the teacher put some effort into it. I’m very happy to teach students with different needs, from beginners who have never learned a second language to advanced students who are looking for serious, structured teaching.

About 10 years ago, I went back to school to learn how to be a professional teacher. After earning a master's degree, I taught for a time in a public school. Then, about 6 years ago, I started working with students online to help them improve their English, especially for business. Many of my students have gotten promotions or new jobs because of their skill improvement. While I'd like to help language learners at all levels and with all goals, I focus exclusively on students at the upper intermediate or advanced level who want to improve their language skills for business. Why? Because this is what I do best.

I currently teach English to students from Japan and all over the world at a Japanese university. I teach critical thinking skills, reading strategies, the writing process, and presentation skills. In addition, I've taught Japanese City Hall employees and other working adults and international students studying in New York. I also briefly taught K-8 in the U.S. and Japan.

A few years ago I was teaching English to mostly kids while working Spain, but then I decided to go travelling around the world teaching adults working professionals using Skype, so that I could make more use of my engineering degree and combine it with English teaching. I was motivated to start teaching English this way because of the amount of knowledge of different cultures and industries/professions that I was able to gain from teaching these lessons. I also like to study language/linguistics etc so that I can use effective methods to help students reach a higher level of fluency with real, solid methods that work.

I love teaching conversational English and helping students practise the conversational elements of the IELTS exam. I am very easy to talk to, and will always adapt to the topic in question. I have a neutral British accent, which is very easy to understand. I have completed a 150 hour TESOL course as well as a 120 hour TEFL course, and have taught online and in person for several years. Patience is a key attribute of mine, so there is absolutely no need to feel embarrassed if you are struggling with anything. I like to remind students of their progress and help them stay motivated rather than let them dwell on any nuances they have not yet mastered.

I have been an online English teacher since 2014, and I wish to develop my student's confidence in speaking the language. Currently, I am taking a teaching course to be a professional English teacher.

First and foremost I am a learner who enjoys learning languages as a hobby. So I understand the frustrations and challenges faced by students when they try to mesh the theoretical aspects of acquisition with the realities of speaking practice. I have written a language course for those tackling German and my approach with beginners is to introduce new language in a very structured way and to prioritise patterns above vocabulary, at least at the start. For more advanced students I am happy to select materials based on their interests. I always try to put people at ease and believe that learning should be an enjoyable as well as enriching experience.

I have been teaching ESL for several years and provide topics to stimulate conversation. My style is informal. I expect that most English learners in my classes know the basic English grammar rules so my focus is to enable non-native speakers to become more comfortable using the language in a practical way.

I am a certified Social Studies teacher in the USA, for grades 4-12. I've been able to live in many places because of my husband's military career, and have experienced many different cultures and ethnicities.
