I have a passion for teaching languages and have been especially interested in learning languages from a very young age. I am educated to Masters degree level in linguistics. I have taught Polish and English at all levels. I am very organised and prepared and plan the curriculum around the learners individual requirements. I provide clear aims and objectives, so that students are able to chart their own progress, and move towards achieving their development targets. I am flexible, and can organise and plan a program which can be adjusted to any standard.

I am a very easygoing and patient teacher. I never push my learners to master the goal of a lesson at a time. If needed, I provide extra explanations until the goal of a lesson is acquired. During the lesson I keep my seed of speaking in accordance with the level of the learner. I like when the learners are curious and ask questions. I always support the learners with the extra guidance to help them be self-learners. Besides teaching English, I also teach Turkish for the communication and academic purposes.

I have been a qualified TEFL teacher since July 2016, and I have experience teaching complete beginners through to advanced. I teach adults and have taught business English, general English, and exam preparation. I have a lot of experience creating personalised learning plans, and have also designed syllabuses and curriculums, including for a university where I taught in Colombia. I studied religion and diplomacy as a MA because I enjoy learning about and experiencing different cultures, which is what lead me into being an English teacher. I love teaching English as it helps us understand one another and share our own cultures and worldviews.

One of my passions in life is making people feel comfortable, heard, understood and capable. I want to do this in a supportive, fun, lighthearted and compassionate way, and to help dedicated students to relax and open up in English.

I have been teaching English for the past two years, both online and also face to face private tutoring. In the last 5 years I have worked in remote areas of Australia both as a Renal Dialysis Nurse and as an English Tutor. I hold a Diploma in TESOL and used my expertise to tutor mature aged aboriginal women, assisting them in their studies. These women may have 1or 2 tribal languages and English may be their 3rd or 4th language. When home in Queensland, I host international students. My first student was a Chinese girl named Yoyo, undertaking her Masters, I assisted her with Conversational English, Australian idioms and slang. I have also hosted Punjabi and Indian students who are upgrading their nursing qualifications and assisted them with nursing terminology and conversational English.

When I lived in Spain for over a year, I taught one-to-one private English lessons to children, university students, and adults while attending university in Murcia. When I returned to Canada, I decided to continue teaching and make it a full-time career as I enjoyed my experience teaching English so much while living abroad. Since my return to Canada, I have been teaching English 40+ hours per week to all levels and ages. I enjoy assisting students while sharing a bit of my culture with them and hearing about theirs.
