I've been teaching for 2 years in a high school in the morning and some language schools in the afternoon. I also gave some private classes to students that needed to improve their school marks or were preparing for the Cambridge First Certificate. Due to the fact I love studying languages myself, I feel I have the tools to understand how different people learn, and that learning should be interesting and fun. It is for this reason that I welcome suggestions and requests from students to enable me to adapt every single class towards what the student wants.

I have tutored numerous English learners over the years in all areas that I have lived. These were always one-on-one informal sessions that differed for each student. Some were simply focused on fluency as the learners already had a strong grasp of English, others were more formalized as I taught grammar and vocabulary that was necessary in international business meetings and documentation.

I have been teaching English for a year in a language school. I have some materials and textbooks. I have been learning how to teach English with these textbooks since 2018.

I am a people person, friendly and outgoing. I am determined to make everything i do a success, which includes ensuring you learn as much as possible from me. When I was younger I had au pairs, to allow my parents to work full time, which means that from a young age i have been interacting with people wanting to improve their English. My experience and passion makes me an ideal English language teacher.

Ich bin positiv gestimmt und habe Geduld mit den Schülern, da ich den Lernprozess einer Sprache (meist 1 bis 2 Jahre bis ich mich gut verständigen konnte) selber kenne. I grew up speaking both English and Spanish, and since I was little my friends and colleagues have asked me to help them with either language. Now, I have been teaching languages formally for over 2 years and I worked as a volunteer language teacher in Morocco. I have a TEFL certificate and I teach students of all ages and all levels. As a teacher I enjoy helping students/adults really learn more English! Whether it is breaking down the grammatical rules and basics of the language, or just having a fun conversation around a topic that the student enjoys. I believe practicing all aspects, especially conversation really helps with the learning process.

I speak English, Spanish, Afrikaans and Xhosa, and underwent training in received British pronunciation. I have been living in South Africa for the last few years, in the morning we often see a troop of baboons passing by. I like walking my dogs, keeping abreast of current affairs, exploring cultures, cuisines, landscapes and meeting people, hence my interest in sociology and teaching English xox.

I have 21 years of management experience gained from running restaurants and nightclubs. At University of Illinois I was the president of student associations and gave speeches at professional events and workshops. After receiving my Master’s Degree I trained employees at University of Illinois and then taught English as a Second Language, American History at the City Colleges of Chicago. Currently I focus on helping professionals and executives expand their vocabulary, utilize creative terminology, and build confidence in their public speaking abilities.

I am kind and patient, so I make my students feel relaxed throughout the lessons. I also make every teaching hour interesting and exciting in order to keep my students engaged and motivated.
