Teaching is a passion of mine and is something that I have been doing since I turned 18. I have taught in a variety of countries and different settings, however I have decided to make teaching online my focus due to the amazing flexibility it gives me. As a teacher my main aim above everything is to create a laidback atmosphere where you, the student can feel comfortable enough to express your true feelings, ask sincere questions and be able to take on my feedback openly. I would describe my teaching style as very interactive. I prefer to create a teaching environment that encourages critical thinking and elicits responses from my students rather than having them merely retain and repeat information. I make use of different websites and encourage my students to read to improve both vocabulary and fluency.

As a teacher I pay attention to personal goals and needs of every single student. My lessons are more conversational because I think that language is taught mainly (not only!) by speaking. I'll encourage you to speak from the very beginning. I am ready to discuss any topic which you like and help you to answer your inquiries. I like to use interactive materials and have fun with the language! I have been teaching English for 2 years in local language school so I have some experience in teaching both adults and children.

I developed a passion for learning foreign languages. I have been studying Polish and Ukrainian diligently for the past year and before that, I was learning German, Russian and even some Estonian! I have completed most of the online language learning apps and programs, have read many language learning books, have had many language exchanges and even private lessons. 

I know what it’s like to learn a new language and to look for the best teachers/resources! Through all of this, I have gained a lot of experience in language learning and teaching.

I have six months at a formal job teaching English and Spanish and 2 years of informal tutoring, I became a teacher because I've always liked to help people understand each other and themselves better; I believe teaching a foreign language and a different culture is one way to do that.

I have over 3 years of experience teaching both English and Spanish to non-native speakers. I taught for a year in Japan and 5 months in Costa Rica. I also have lots of online tutoring/teaching experience. I am excited to teach you English and know you will enjoy our time together!

As I'll probably always be a student of languages too, I have some good advice to give you from my own experience of learning. I really loved being an English teacher in Japan and continue to love teaching here on italki, helping people of all ages from all over the world become confident in the English language. I am a true believer in learning natural English rather than robotic English that is taught in textbooks alone. I have my feet in two worlds, the world of education and the world of business. I have two Master's degrees, one in Education-Teaching English as a Foreign Language and the other in Business Administration. I have taught English at two universities, a French school, many corporations and online. I have also worked in banking and finance. I particularly like online teaching since it is one-to-one and I get to know my students well. My specialties are conversation and Business English and English for Investors. My students are intermediate level or advanced. I do not teach children or teenagers.

I am a Canadian certified teacher. I also have my B.A in Linguistics as well as diplomas in Early Child Education and TESOL. I have been working in many different school settings including public/private schools and one on one/group tutoring.
