I have a wealth of life experience, practicality and self confidence that I bring to my teaching ability. I am a VERY young, healthy and fit 59! I was born in Canada and I grew up in Canada. I am currently living in the UK. For this reason, my accent is a bit of a mix between the two. I have also worked in the fashion industry, the Telecom sector and with adults with Learning Difficulties and Mental Health issues. These roles have made me a very patient, empathetic and tolerant person with a great deal of compassion.

Moi en tant que professeur

I have been teaching Business English and General English for over 10 years to groups as well as one-to-one. I have lived and worked in 7 different countries. I have also worked as a Centre Manager for Summer Schools in the UK with a large staff under me. I am well organised, reliable and punctual. I have given mostly face-to-face lessons but of course, online learning has increased over the past few years. I have taught online using Cisco Webex as well as telephone lessons to students who are good enough to make them worthwhile and productive rather than frustrating and too difficult to keep track.

Mes leçons et ma méthode d'enseignement

My lessons can be very conversational using authentic material which is age-appropriate, relevant and of interest to the student. I make the lessons learner-centred in order to meet their expectations, language requirements and learner level. I have a lot of life experience and common sense which I also incorporate into my lessons when the need arises. I am adept at reading a situation and adapting to the situation quickly when I can see what is happening. I am very versatile, knowledgeable and I remain calm in stressful situations.
