Hello! I am a CELTA qualified native English speaker with a neutral accent. I have over 7 years experience teaching Art and Design in UK secondary schools and absolutely love teaching. I have recently moved to Lisbon, Portugal, so I am also on a language learning journey. I understand the importance of communication and also the struggles we face as learners of new languages. I am very active and like walking in the outdoors, I do lots of yoga and dancing (in particular Tap dancing). I am also an artist and love all things creative. I like to read, listen to music and watch TV. I am a keen cook (although I'm not the best) and love to try out new cuisines and traditional foods when I travel.

Moi en tant que professeur

I am an open, friendly and outgoing teacher. I believe that learning a language should be enjoyable and active. I want my students to experience the language rather than learning about it. My experience as a secondary school teacher has made me extremely resourceful, patient and able to adapt quickly to my students needs. It is my job to work at your pace, in the style you prefer on the areas you want to focus on. I am very organised and always come to my lessons prepared. Through my CELTA training I have experience teaching students at elementary, pre- intermediate and intermediate level.

Mes leçons et ma méthode d'enseignement

Not every student is the same and so neither are my lessons. Each one is tailored around the students needs, priorities and learning preferences. They can be more structured with a focus on exercises and tasks, whereas others can be more conversational with a focus on fluency and error correction. There are 4 main areas when learning a language: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Some will be more important to you than others, I will ensure to take this into account and prioritise those that have more value to you.

Thank you very much, Tasha! I really enjoyed talking with you. You're very cheerful and nice! That was my first experience with a native speaker. And it's still difficult for me to speak: I speak and understand slowly. But with Tasha, I feel much more confident. I just had my third lesson with her and I can see my progress! Thanks again!
