Before I left the UK, I did a 20-hour TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualification. So while I'm only on Italki as a community teacher, I do actually have some training in how to teach English.
I have also taken part as a native English speaker on a Diverbo residential course, spending an entire week with individuals wanting to improve their English. This involved one-to-one conversations, group activities, conversations at mealtimes, etc. with the non-native speakers.
My accent is British English, but I am familiar with many of the words, phrases, and spellings that differ between this and American English. Mes leçons et ma méthode d'enseignement
My lessons will generally be based around conversations between the two of us. The topic of this conversation will depend on your level and needs of the student, as well as any particular areas of interest that you have.
During the conversation, I will be listening not just to what you are saying, but how you are saying it so that I can correct any errors in your grammar or pronunciation.
Beyond this, things depend on exactly what you want. I have students that I do worksheets with, for some more formal learning. I have students that read out articles that I send them, so I can correct their pronunciation and explain things they don't understand. I have students where we just talk.5.0
