À propos de moi
Professeur italki depuis le 23 Nov 2018
Hello, my name is Andrew and I am a native English speaker, having lived most of my life in the United States. I have a strong interest in history, language, philosophy and literature. I am currently working on my Master’s degree in Eastern European literature and culture. I first fell in love with language learning several years ago in college when I began studying Russian. I love to discuss a wide range of topics such as, history, psychology, literature, society and politics. I am an avid reader, and I also like to keep very active. I run a lot, and have discovered a love of Judo since beginning graduate school over a year ago.
Moi en tant que professeur
I have a varied background as a teacher. I am currently working in my second year as a professional tutor at a local college (mostly teaching math and English). I have additionally helped to organize various English camps for foreign language learners. I also volunteered for several months as an English instructor in my local college’s ESL (English as a Second Language) department and was eventually employed by that department to teach their intermediate class before moving for my own further education. I received my BA in Eastern European Languages and Literature (with a focus on Russian), and my current masters work has also been in Eastern European languages and literature with a focus i
Mes leçons et ma méthode d'enseignement
In my lessons my goal is to get my students to practice their speaking as much as possible. I will use various materials and methods, such as theme centered videos and discussion questions, to help my students enjoy speaking and practicing. We will discuss topics ranging from history to science, but I primarily wish to tailor my topics to my students’ interests. My only prerequisite for my students is a strong desire to learn. My study pace will be adjusted to each individual student’s needs. I expect my students to be on time, to study hard and to respect the learning process. I look forward to working with you!
