Hi! I'm Elissa and I'm a Canadian girl living in Italy. I'm a native English speaker and I'm fluent in Italian. I also speak a bit of French. My hobbies include acting, singing, playing the guitar, drawing -- pretty much anything artistic. I also spend a lot of time making videos for my YouTube channel - It's Elissa, Not Alyssa - Where I make videos on language and culture in both English and Italian. I've lived in 3 countries so far: Canada (my home country), Australia, and now Italy.

My lessons are quite relaxed. It has been described by my students to be like learning from a friend. I'm friendly, honest, and enthusiastic. I love learning and I love watching my students learn as well!

Mes leçons et ma méthode d'enseignement

My teaching style is very relaxed. I tend to "go with the flow". I tend to start lessons with any questions the student may have gathered in between lessons, and I always make sure you are comfortable with basic introductory conversations before working on more difficult topics. I focus quite a bit on pronunciation, so if you're trying to improve your pronunciation then I can definitely help with that. Of course, every student is different, and I will adjust based on your needs. All notes are kept in a Google Docs file so you can keep them forever! PLEASE NOTE: I don't use the Italki Classroom, I only use Skype. Please download Skype after you book a lesson and send me a message.

I’ve had about 50 lessons with Elissa so far and she has always been a great teacher. She points out my mistakes with regards to pronunciation and word choice, and she teaches me how to adjust my pronunciation so that I use the correct sounds and what the differences between similar words are.

wonderful lession! Elissa is a great teacher who is more about the individual than a set curriculum, she's well rounded and gets straight to the point. I'm shy but she makes the conversations easy.
