I adopt a communicative approach, without dismissing the importance of focusing on specific aspects of the language. I love to transmit not only the language, but also the cultures of Italy!
My travel experience and knowledge of people of all nationalities have greatly helped me in teaching languages because I have developed empathy and listening skills to meet my students’ needs.
I graduated in Foreign Languages, I am a CELI examiner, I got a Masters in Teaching Italian to Foreigners and more than 10 years of experience in teaching languages.

I think learning a language should be interactive and engaging so I use a combination of skills and personalize my lessons according to my students needs and goals.
I establish a good connection with my students: I understand their needs and I make them feel comfortable during classes.
If you are a beginner I will improve your vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar. If you are at an intermediate or advanced level, we will also work on communication, articles, songs and anything regarding Italian life, traditions and culture.
If you want to cancel a class, remember to do it 24 hours before, otherwise you will have to pay for it.

I am incredibly self-conscious and Elena made me feel very comfortable in our lesson. She encouraged me when I felt unsure which really helped.my nerves. She did a wonderful job of figuring out where I was at so she could meet me there and find a plan to move forward with my learning.

Lessons with Elena are key to helping me improve my Italian conversation. She is an excellent listener who knows how to keep the conversation flowing while pointing out where I am making mistakes. Elena is also very good at follow up, explaining grammar points in a very accessible way and making sure I have homework that is targeted directly at the problems I am having. I strongly recommend Elena as a teacher of Italian, especially if you are someone like me who needs help to get over a plateau and onto the next level of fluency.
